We finally went to check out Suwanee Town Center recently. In addition to a picturesque green space, some shops and some fountains for the kids to play in, it also has of course a bunch of restaurants. Many of them are chains – Ippolito’s, Mellow Mushroom, Five Guys, etc. – but there were also some originals too.
We decided to try Suwanee Park Tavern because well, beer, but also their outside seating looked so inviting. Inviting it was – with a nice awning for shade and a great view of the park. It was also super quiet, which we love. Our server was friendly, and the food was pretty good too. Overall, a nice spot.
For starters we ordered the calamari. We have tried many calamari in our day because my husband pretty much orders it everywhere we go. We both agreed that this one ranked at about a 7 out of 10. It could have been a bit more crispy, but with capers, red peppers, aioli and micro greens, the flavor was there.
My husband also orders caesar salad wherever we go, and sadly he found this one to be a bit lackluster – the chicken being a little tough and the salad not having quite enough dressing. My burger, though, was better. Nice and juicy with good texture and taste topped with cheese, pickles, onion, lettuce and tomato. I enjoyed it.
I got my burger with the kettle chips versus the other choices of fries or sweet potato fries. Even though some of them were a bit too charred for my taste (my husband gladly ate them), the chips that were not on the burnt side had just enough flavor and crunch and weren’t too greasy.
Due to the great location, good service and satisfactory food, I rank this place pretty high on the Fresh Factor. The best part of the experience was being able to find a spot of shade and sprawl out in the park for awhile after we ate. So relaxing…
Suwanee Town Center also has tons of events throughout the year, so we’ll have to check out some of those too.Tags: Atlanta, Georgia, Suwanee, Suwanee Park Tavern, Suwanee Town Center
